International Students - Taking The Asheford Program Outside Of North America
The Asheford Institute has a large number of International Students and graduates from around the world (those students residing outside of the United States and Canada), that are active members within the AIA Program. The requirements for enrolling in the Asheford Program for International Students are the same as those for domestic students. However, there are some additional considerations (listed below), that one may wish to look at before contemplating admission and enrollment to the school.
Factors such as potential shipping costs, Course format type (hard-copy or e-Course), and the potential for import or VAT taxes, can all play a factor in the total cost of tuition. Therefore, we strongly urge students to examine these points carefully before choosing a Course format. The launch of the school's new online e-Course mitigates almost all of the aforementioned costs associated with the hard-copy Textbook version, and is therefore recommended as the first choice option for international students wishing to enroll in the Asheford Program.
International Enrollment Eligibility Requirements
ANYONE may apply for admission to the Asheford Institute's decorative arts program. However, to be eligible to enroll in the school, it is recommended that you at least have a good fundamental working (and written) knowledge of the English language. Students are not required to have a GED equivalency test score, but must demonstrate the ability to comprehend the subject matter at hand, via the submission of OPEN-BOOK Course examinations.

Enrolling In The e-Course Format
Latest Version Of The Asheford Program Now Available Online!
For International Students, the wait is finally over...The Institute has just released its NEW online version of the Asheford Program. At almost double the size of the original Course Textbooks, with streaming videos, links to antique resource sites, and thousands of illustrations and images, the new e-Course has been specifically designed with International Students in mind. Now all your Course texts, teaching-aids, quiz's, examinations and conferencing with Course "Instructor's" can be completed entirely online through the new e-Course format.
The new e-Course now allows direct access to all of your Course materials with the click of a mouse. Your enrollment can be taken by phone, or you can enroll directly online. Once your account has been approved, a "pass code" will be emailed immediately for each e-Course Study Plan. You'll be able to get started right-away, with virtually no delay. Once you have finished your first Plan of study, simply complete your online examination, hit submit, and you'll be ready to move onto your next set of study materials. Should you wish to print off any section of your e-Course for a hard-copy reference - you can do so at any time.
The new e-Course is not only larger in sheer volume than its Textbook counterpart, but it also provides a wide-range of advanced teaching applications that can only be delivered through an online format. So, if you're thinking about enrolling in the Asheford Program, we highly recommend you consider our newest e-Course offering first - not only as means to saving a substantial amount of money on shipping fees and possible taxes, but also as a way to receive the latest version our acclaimed program in a new and improved format (For more details about the new online program, visit the school's "e-Course" page).

Enrolling In The Textbook Format
If you are interested in participating in the Asheford Program as an international student, and wish to enroll under the Textbook option rather than the online e-Course, please be aware that there are additional shipping charges based on one's particular geographic location.
Additional Shipping Charges
In order to minimize these shipping costs, the Institute recommends that potential students enroll under the Plan (C) payment option for the "Complete Course In Full," (entire Course is shipped at one time), as this option will reduce the overall shipping weight of the packaging and Course materials.
International students may also choose to enroll under a "Monthly Installment Payment Plan," for the Textbook version of the Asheford Program - Plan (B). However, shipping costs will increase significantly over time, as Course Study Plans will be mailed out incrementally, rather than at one time.
Below, is a sample of current shipping costs to Europe and Asia, using France and Australia as examples. Please be advised that these figures are only general guidelines, and that a specific physical address will be required in order to obtain an exact amount for additional Course shipping fees for the Textbook version of the program.
